My names Bret Nissen, I'm 33 years old from Antioch California. I'm happily married to my wife Candie and a father to our kids, Briar (4) Blake (1) and a new addition coming September 2017. I started lifting at a very young and by the time I turned 14, the age you needed to be to get in the gym, I was there regularly and have never turned back since. At that young age I had a lot of friends who were getting in the weight room also, but I was extremely blessed to come from a family of hardcore weight lifters, including a pro bodybuilder which introduced me to the importance of nutrition at a very young age. I picked the experienced guys brains, read every magazine I could and by my late teens, early 20's I had packed on some pretty decent muscle. At 25, my close friend pushed me to enter my first bodybuilding show, I went for it and took first place in both the novice and open classes! I was hooked. At that point I knew to go any further I needed my diet and supplementation to as precise as it could be. I worked with a couple of top nutritionist after that and took my physique to one of the top Bodybuilders at the NPC level, winning an overall championship at the Governors cup, first place in the heavyweight class at the California state championships and most recently overall champion at the 2017 Tahoe show. With our 3rd child on the way and a very busy work schedule, I decided it's not realistic for me to try and take it to the next level onstage, as it would be take from the family and also be difficult for me to put the time I need to be competitive at that level into it. That being said, I'm not letting off the gas at all and want to continue in the sport, just in other ways for the time being. I've picked up ALOT of info from various coaches I've worked with, research I've done and a lot of trial and error. I feel I've learned basic principles and theories that work not only for myself, but for others as well when applied appropriately. I've worked with a few friends testing my knowledge, experience and have been very happy with the results we've seen. My goal is to offer training, diet, and supplementation guidance that you can learn and use long past the time you're under my guidance. I believe in staying ``inshape`` year round, regardless of your goals. I pride myself in being able to do guest posing photo shoots etc..... any day of the year and that's the style of diet/training that I teach. I believe in 100% honesty and giving you the best route to help achieve your goals. There is no supplement companies attached to this, no sponsors that I’m trying to steer toward their products, anything I recommend to you is strictly what I feel will bring you the best results. I'm also a ``normal`` person, I work a normal job outside of the fitness industry, have a wife and kids, I can relate to the chaos that life has. A lot of trainers eat, sleep, and breathe gym, which is great, but not realistic for most. Every program I design, after getting a brief background of you, will be created with budget, convenience and quality of life all in mind, which in return will make it a lot more likely for you to stick to. Your results are not only a reflection of your hard work, but also mine and I'll give everything possible to get us where we want to be.
